Case Study: Global Digital Ecosystem Transformation
Executive Summary
Led the strategic vision and product roadmap for "Atfarm," a multi-platform digital ecosystem for a global leader in crop nutrition, aligning 16,000+ stakeholders and a cross-functional team of 7 Product Managers.
The Challenge
As a multinational corporation with 16,000 staff, Yara International faced the "Enterprise Paradox": possessing deep scientific knowledge in crop nutrition but struggling to integrate that expertise into a unified, user-centric digital product. The "Atfarm" product needed to scale across web and mobile platforms while maintaining alignment across geographically dispersed incubation teams in Europe and South America.
The Strategy (Senior Product Leadership)
Ecosystem Visioning: Rather than treating web and mobile as separate entities, I architected a vision for an Integrated Digital Ecosystem. This shifted the product from a "tool" to a value-added platform where all actors—from farmers to agronomists—could benefit from Yara’s R&D.
Global Alignment: Acted as the primary interface between technical delivery and senior global management, ensuring that "incubation" projects in different hemispheres stayed aligned with the core product roadmap.
Cross-Disciplinary Orchestration: Built a collaborative bridge between Technology, QA, Design, R&D, and Customer Support to ensure a 360-degree feedback loop for product iterations.
The Solution (Implementation & Governance)
Product Team Leadership: Managed a team of 7 Product Managers, mentoring them on roadmap execution and stakeholder management to drive velocity.
Unified Roadmap: Consolidated multiple competing priorities into a single, cohesive roadmap for both the Web Portal and Mobile App.
Stakeholder Buy-in: Successfully pitched and secured "Green Light" approval from Senior Management for a new integrated approach to crop nutrition delivery.
Inter-departmental Integration: Embedded R&D and Quality Assurance earlier in the product lifecycle to ensure the "Atfarm" digital experience matched Yara’s high scientific standards.
The Results
Strategic Unified Vision: Moved the organization from fragmented digital efforts to a single, accepted ecosystem vision.
Operational Scale: Successfully managed product delivery across multiple continents and multicultural teams in a high-velocity environment.
Stakeholder Cohesion: Realigned Support, Design, and Tech teams under a shared product objective, reducing friction and improving time-to-market for key features.
